Based on the information from the reasearch of Gwangju Uprising, I found a very interesting fact. Most of the people who instigated the protest against the government was students. In other words, they were in my age and were brave enough to fight agaisnt what they really want, freedom. If I was in their shoes, I can't imagine myself sacrificing myself to gain 'freedom'. I will be satisfy with what I have because of the fear of being slaughter by the government. It was a disaster. The hell where people have no hope and no future from the force from the government. If people got caught with the action of protest, they lose everything: lose what they had called 'freedom' that doesn't really set people free. Gwangju Uprising reminds me of the era when Korea was the colony of Japan. The time when Korea was the colony of Japan was during 1910 - 1945.
