The Gwangju Uprising (Gwangju Democratization Movement)    The Gwangju Uprising occurred from May 18th to 27th in the southern city of Gwangju. Many people rebelled against the government that was run by Doo-hwan Jun who ruled the government with the virtual dictatorship because they were unsatisfied with the way the government worked. I decided to give a change in my signature project. I was planning to focus on several Korean historical events that have impacted me; however, I thought it would be better for me to focus on one event. Thus, I decided to focus on "The Gwangju Uprising", alternately called "Gwangju Democratization Movement". My goal of reminding people about important past event hasn't change. It will just be focusing on one significant historical event in Korea. At the end of the year, I will be done with the timeline of the one significant historical event, which is The Gwangju Uprising, with my personal reflection.
